About JSR
It's the two of us, and we're both there.
A husband-and-wife team building custom homes and remodels across Tallahassee and the Florida Big Bend.
Who you're hiring
Jared builds it. Stacey designs it. Nobody hands you off.
JSR Construction & Remodeling is a husband-and-wife operation. That isn't a charming detail on an About page — it's the whole reason the process works the way it does.
Design and construction don't happen in separate buildings here, passed between people who've never spoken. We work on both, together, through the entire project. When a design decision has a construction consequence, the two people who need to talk about it are already married.
We're truly hands-on builders. You are going to see us at your house. Not a superintendent you were introduced to once, not a name on an email chain — us.
We take commercial work too, though it's a small share of what we do. If you've got a commercial project, call and ask — we'll tell you plainly whether we're the right fit rather than stretching to take it.
Stacey is also a licensed Florida real estate agent. If you haven't found a lot yet, that's not a separate errand you go run before you're allowed to talk to a builder — she can help you buy it, and price the house on it at the same time. Start searching here.
Jared — construction
Runs the build itself. The person deciding how your house gets framed is the person standing in it.
Stacey — design
Walks you through the design process, finish selections and the accents that make the home feel like yours. She's also a licensed Florida realtor (license #SL3154101), so she can help you buy the land too.
Both of us — reachable
Call or text. Through the whole process, not just the parts with a signature attached.
The design process
We start by asking who you actually are.
Before anything gets drawn, we sit down with you.
We interview you
Not a form — a conversation. How you live, how you use a kitchen, whether you actually want the formal dining room, what you've walked into and loved, what you've walked into and hated.
We find your style
Most people know what they like long before they know what it's called. Stacey's job is to name it, then build a direction around it that holds together instead of being ten good ideas fighting each other.
You choose, we guide
Finishes, materials, fixtures, the accent details that keep a house from looking like every other new build on the street. You're making the calls with someone who knows what each one costs and how it will age.
You stay in it
Beginning to end. Not consulted once at the start and then updated at the closing table. It's your house — you should recognize it when it's finished.
Access
You will not have trouble finding us.
The complaint people bring us about their last builder is almost always the same one: they met the owner at the sales meeting and never saw him again. Everything after that went through someone who didn't know the history of the project.
We're on job sites. We answer phone calls and text messages. If something changes at your house on a Tuesday, you can talk to the people who decide what happens about it on Tuesday.
- You'll see us on site through the whole build — not once at the start.
- Calls and texts get answered by us, not routed.
- Design questions and construction questions go to the same two people.
- We build homes we own and operate ourselves — the standard doesn't change when the keys stay with us.
How we work
Nobody enjoys a vague estimate.
The questionnaire on this site isn't a lead form. It's how we stop wasting your afternoon.
- We ask your budget range before we visit, because a walkthrough where nobody says a number is a walkthrough nobody learns anything from.
- We ask about timeline, so we can tell you honestly whether we can hit it.
- We ask about realtors and land on new builds, because those costs belong in the plan on day one, not at contract.
- We ask what finish level you have in mind, so "granite" and "laminate" stop being the same conversation.
